A Natural Resounding

A project I did recently for my cousin's birthday; she collects native American artwork, and so I decided to make something that would fit that theme. While there isn't anything explicitly based in the Native American culture here (and in spite of the fact that most of the references I was using were of places and animals NOT standard to the USA) I aimed for an image reminiscent of the work I see hanging in their house when I go over.
It was nice getting back to scratchboard after so long; I couldn't even find this stuff 'til I searched for it online--none of the local art stores seem to have any, outside the craft ones that come with an image ready for you to carve out. Anyway, it was definitely a fun project and she seemed pretty happy with it; definitely worth it
(And for the record, despite the similarities, this had NOTHING to do with "The Town Musicians of Bremen" story. To be honest, I might not have even heard of it had my cousin not pointed it out to me )

Summation of the Name and Image:
A meaning late in the development--in fact, made after the picture was completed--and fitting as this is being uploaded just before Christmas: as we live, so too let us love, as we witness the world around us, from the breathing beasts to the silent mountains to the restful moon, demonstrate the wonder of our Great Creator and King, who with His unending wonder and amazing creativity fashioned each and every one of us in love. So as the old song says: "All creatures of our God and King, lift up your voice and with us sing, Alleluia!"
